Topics: The course will explore the question of the possibility of machine intelligence. We will look at what it means for a machine to exhibit intelligence. We will talk about the Turing test and Church's thesis. The course will look at LISP and Prolog, two programming languages used in AI research. Topics to be covered will include basic search techniques, game playing, automated reasoning, problem solving, expert systems, machine learning, and neural networks.
 
Grade: The grade will be computed as follows: two exams worth 20% each, a final exam worth 30%, and several programming assignments and a large project worth 30%.
